Broadband is a household word to many people, who often use the Internet. Many people probably remember the days when the Internet was first introduced into our lives. Court today, where the Internet can be found in almost all homes and businesses around the world. As the importance of the Internet grows the need for faster connection speeds. Of broadband provides a much better alternative to the previous line of connection, especially as surfing the web does not interfere with the telephone line. The Japanese seem to enjoy the fastest connection speeds on average, with tests showing that the user receives an average of about 93 megabits per second (Mbps). Compare that with the United States who has an average speed of only eight Mbps. There is pressure on governments and providers to find ways to increase connection speeds to people’s homes.

There were different types of connections made over the years, all with varying degrees of speed. These include adsl1 ADSL2 and VDSL. The problem with this type of connection that sends signals through the telephone line through an exchange of mathematical technique. For this reason, many speed limits can be sent through the line and at home.

The fiber optic cables to serve as a means of sending signals over long distances with a minimal decrease of the original speed. While broadband providers can make changes in the exchange rate to the junction box outside the house, very little is going to do about the final connection to the box at home.
